Consulting Services

The Institute for Educational Advancement (IEA) provides parents, children and schools with information and resources pertaining to the gifted population. Our Consultants are trained professionals in the field of gifted education and they are eager to design a program that will help you to understand and meet the needs of your gifted child. Our Consultation Services include:

  • Personal Consulting
  • Speaking Engagements
  • School and District Teacher Training Seminars
Our Personal Consulting service is designed to assist gifted children and their families in identifying a gifted child's unique social, emotional, and academic needs and to provide recommendations and resources regarding placement in appropriate schools, programs, and other educational environments. The Personal Consulting service is tailored to fit the needs of each family and may include the following components:
  • An initial consultation with the child and family.
  • An evaluation of the child's educational history including school reports, standardized test scores, and individual IQ tests, if applicable.
  • Personal meetings with the child to assess interests, values, goals, personality, and personal/academic challenges.
  • An observation of the child in his or her school environment.
  • Personal meetings with families to determine results of assessments, realistic goals, and potential resources.
  • A final summary report, which includes a comprehensive analysis of the child's needs based on assessment and interview results, recommendations for school placement, extracurricular resources, and testing/counseling referrals.

The fee schedule for Personal Consulting is as follows: Annual Salary of -

  • $50,000 or above - $150/hour
  • $35,000-$50,000 - $100/hour
  • $25,000-$35,000 - $ 75/hour

Payment plans may be arranged.

IEA's Speaking Engagements are designed to meet the needs of diverse groups of people seeking information on issues related to gifted youth and education. Whether it is to a small group of concerned parents or a large team of professionals, our expert speakers custom tailor their presentations to meet the needs of their audience.

Example topics of Speaking Engagements include:

  • Characteristics of the Gifted Child
  • The Social and Emotional Needs of the Gifted Child
  • Academic Options for the Gifted Child
  • Parenting the Gifted Child
  • Academic and Personal Resources for the Gifted Child

Individuals attending the presentation will receive a packet of information related to the presentation topic(s).

The fee schedule for Speaking Engagements is as follows:

  • $450 for a one-hour presentation
  • $150 for each additional hour
Payment plans may be arranged. School and District Training Seminars are carefully designed based on the diverse needs of various school districts. IEA's staff of trained professionals will create a seminar for teachers, principals, and other school and/or district staff members on how to meet the needs of their gifted population. Seminars take place on or off school sites and they range from one day to one week in length. All seminars are designed on an individual basis, with content including, but not limited to the following:
  • Characteristics and Identification of the Gifted Child
  • The Social and Emotional Needs of the Gifted Child
  • Assessment
  • Public Policy in Gifted Education
  • Differentiated Instruction
  • Classroom Strategies
  • Educational Considerations for the Gifted Child

In addition to the seminars, IEA will provide all necessary materials and supplemental readings. The fee schedule for School and District Training Seminars is determined on a case-by-case basis.
